Glenn Beck calls on the feds to order Marines to end Occupy Wall Street (video)

OK, I know Glenn Beck is nuts, but millions of people listen to him… unfortunately.

On his radio show today, Beck called the Occupy Wall Street protesters dangerous revolutionaries who want to take down the US government. He asked the federal government to shut down the Occupy demonstrations by sending in the Marines and called on capitalists and Democrats not to trust the protesters or work with them.

From the Huffington Post

Speaking on his radio show Monday, Beck made his already-crystal-clear disdain for the protests, which have spread across the U.S., even more plain. He took a slightly surprising turn, though, in warning establishment Democrats like Nancy Pelosi (who has voiced her support for the movement) as well as any rich backers of the protests not to trust anyone in Occupy Wall Street…

“Capitalists, if you think that you can play footsies with these people, you’re wrong. They will come for you and drag you into the streets and kill you…they’re Marxist radicals…these guys are worse than Robespierre from the French Revolution…they’ll kill everybody.”

A video link with Beck’s full rant is here.

Sure take down wall street, take down the rich (who are supporting these nut jobs) and what will be left?  Nothing but a poor broken society wondering what the hell happened to the American Dream! These people are a joke and a disgrace.

This is not about “taking down the rich”–this is about asking them to pay their fair share of taxes.  This is about a fair playing field for U.S. based companies-no more tax breaks for taking jobs overseas.  Without a healthy middle class and working class the U.S. will be weakened.  Who do you think has paid for the bulk of public education, police, fire, roads, infrastructure and a standing military?  Not the rich–they will cry that they pay enormous taxes, but most of the money has come from the working and middle class, from the 99%.

@ fortheloveofcountry. YOUR tax money (700BILLION and rising) has gone to bail out corporations that have acted illegally and immorally. They ignore the law, and get them changed in their favor whenever possible. Our income tax money is spent on paying the INTEREST on the federal debt. The US’s biggest product is no longer manufacturing but it is creating DEBT. Both parties are equally to blame for letting this situation get out of control and pandering to special interest.

The Tucson Progressive: Pamela J. Powers

I stand on the side of Love. I believe in kindness to all creatures on Earth and the inherent self-worth of all individuals–not just people who agree with me or look like me.

Widespread economic and social injustice prompted me to become a candidate for the Arizona House, representing Legislative District 9 in the 2016 election.

My platform focused on economic reforms to grow Arizona’s economy, establish a state-based public bank, fix our infrastructure, fully fund public education, grow local small businesses and community banks, and put people back to work at good-paying jobs.

In the Arizona House, I was a strong voice for fiscal responsibility a moratorium on corporate tax breaks until the schools were fully funded, increased cash assistance to the poor, expansion of maternal healthcare benefits, equal rights, choice, unions, education at all levels and protecting our water supply.

After three terms, I retired from the Arizona Legislature in January 2023 but will continue to blog and produce my podcast “A View from the Left Side.”
